Arjan Postma (1972) began his career as a marketing & research manager, working with Emerging Technologies at Hewlett-Packard. He went on to become a tutor in interactive and strategic marketing at several business schools, focusing on how technological innovation impacts society, and vice versa.

Mr. Postma then founded the United Resources of Jamby (URJ), an early-stage incubator of which he became the CCO. At URJ, he experimented with the production of open innovation platforms as well as trans-media productions.

In early 2000, Mr. Postma went on to found the European Institute for Future Studies, FreedomLab, innovating models of ’scenario planning’ and ‘futuring’. This has resulted in FreedomLab’s own brand of Scenario Based Reasoning which is currently being taught at several business schools. Additionally, FreedomLab has been applying this methodology to strategy and policy thinking at a large range of companies and institutions throughout Europe.

Mr. Postma heads up Cyrte’s Board of Inspiration which consists of over 200 worldwide opinion-leaders including members of governments, entrepreneurs, scientists and artists.
